This pedestrian ramp between Mothercare (left) and the open space containing Image takes shoppers from the enclosed mall area near Sainsbury's up to a more open area outside the old market, whose classical pillars can be seen in the distance.

St. Pancras church, Exeter
Another view of Image from the edge of the shops. The wall beneath the bell-cote, whose sandstone and trap stones (rebuilt in the 1880s) are picked out by midday sunlight, is also seen in Image That's a pigeon, by the way.

The font of St Pancras
This font is the city's oldest known - from 1191 - and is a simple circular affair with pellet mouldings around the outside. Unfortunately, the church had a long history of disuse and neglect; in 1831 attempts were made to restore it to its former glory, but the work on the font tended to damage the delicate features.

A memorial to a Cornish family that details the spread of smallpox as it claimed many siblings in the eighteenth century. As is the custom, the bottom of the tablet features two skulls.
