Delicatessen, Buller Road, St Thomas, Exeter
Buller Road is named after General Sir Redvers Buller, local hero in the Boer War. This building was formerly a Methodist Wesleyan Church (1909-34), was used for making parachutes in WW2, and was used for selling beds before being converted to a delicatessen

The General Buller, St Thomas, Exeter
Pub alongside Buller Road at the edge of the St Thomas Shopping Centre. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5097737 to the name sign. An information board on the pub wall records that General Sir Redvers Buller VC was born at Downes near Crediton on December 7th 1839. He joined the Kings Own Rifles at the age of 18. He distinguished himself with heroic deeds in the Zulu War, personally rescuing a number of his men. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for valorous deeds in the face of the enemy. He died on June 2nd 1908 and was buried at Crediton.
