Appledore: 5 Meeting Street
The Champion of Wales. An inn which closed in recent years and has now re-opened as 'The Champ'. In the Victorian era it was probably frequented by crews from small sloops, smacks and ketches, bringing coal and possibly limestone from Swansea and elsewhere along the Welsh coast. The renaming has lost the historical link
