Chambercombe : Chambercombe Manor
Chambercombe Manor was owned by the Champernon family from around 1162. In the early 16th century it became the property of Henry Duke of Suffolk father of the ill fated Lady Jane Grey.

Chambercombe Manor
Chambercombe Manor is a charming old manor house dating probably from the C15th with additions and alterations from the succeeding centuries.
It was originally built for the Champernon family, but is now open to the public and various outbuildings are let out as holiday cottages.
When we visited, the last tour of the day had started so we were only able to view the grounds, so if you intend to visit, best check the opening times.
I was warned by the guide that my camera might play up due to all the paranormal activity around the place! I had no such problems, but curiously of a batch of 47 photos that I uploaded, all copied onto Geograph with no problems except this one - which only succeeded on the third attempt - read into that what you will!
