Cash Machine and Telephone, Barnstaple
This installation on the corner of Queen Street and Mallets Lane in Barnstaple is the first combined BT public telephone box and HSBC ATM in the country. The ATM is located on one face of the box with the telephone on another, although neither offers shelter for users. It is seen as the potential saviour of the public telephone service and a way of providing cash points in areas with few banking facilities.
