Ashen Copse
The wood, which runs along the western side of a steep little valley below Home Barton, seems to be mostly conifers, with a fringe of broadleaves, but was presumably once coppiced. This edge is the southern fringe, rising steeply from the lane between Riverton and West Buckland. The track crossing the field to the gate is one of the main tracks through the wood.
