The Exe in the mist
Swans think they may have found a sympathetic onlooker in the mist. Taken from Exe Bridge South, while thick mist filled the lower parts of Exeter. The view looks across a northing gridline; the houses on Gervase Avenue, on the right, together with the tree and the flats at Shooting Marsh Stile, are all in Image

Flood bank on the Exe
This is the cycle path alongside the river Exe (west bank) where it briefly leaves the riverside to meet Haven Road. The hump in the path is in order to maintain a minimum flood defence level, as the Exe is subject to winter floods in this area (see Derek Harper's photos of Image for example).

Shooting Marsh Stile, Exeter
According to http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/EM/stthomas.html , "the area once afforded good shooting". The house appears as the end terrace in Image, and on the right of Image, and is on Gervase Avenue ("takes its name from Nicholas and Walter Gervase who built the first Exe Bridge").

Exe below Exe Bridge South
A swan glides upstream. See Image; on the extreme left is the corner of the flats at Shooting Marsh Stile, with, beyond them the taller flats above shops at Ashmore Court. Across Alphington Street is the distinctive curved glass of Image (formerly the Plaza, and opened by Princess Di). On the right is the end of the terrace of houses on Gervase Avenue.
