The former St Loyes inn
The inn dates from 1936, when many of the houses in the area were constructed as part of the resettlement of people from the tenements in the old part of the city of Exeter. Its construction style is similar to many inns from that period. The inn closed a few years ago.

There are very few postboxes dating from the reign of Edward VIII. It appears that this is the only one in Devon. At some time it has lost the sheet which shows the times of collection.

St.. Loye's Chapel Exeter
St Loye's chapel was built in the 1380's to serve a rural mansion and was dedicated to the patron saint of blacksmiths and goldsmiths. After 400 years it had fallen into disrepair and was used as a stable. St. Loye's emblem is a horseshoe.
