The village hall, Shebbear
The poster advertises a Wine and Wisdom evening, which seems to be a widespread idea as similar events were advertised in several other villages in the district.

Lake Methodist Church
The Bible Christians movement began here in Shebbear ( http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/Shebbear/BibleChristians/index.html ), and the church, on the left, stands on the site of their first Chapel. On the right is the original schoolroom. The nearby Shebbear College was founded by the Bible Christians in 1832.
