The Methodist Chapel, Whiddon Down
Built between 1904 and 1906 and still in regular use, this splendid granite chapel has its own burial ground to the left of the picture. It was built to "provide better accommodation for the work of the church". This quotation taken from a booklet published by Lewis G Court in 1904.

Starlings at Whiddon Down
Some of the birds (probably a 6-figure total) involved in an evening display before roosting. Several cars had stopped, so this is possibly a diurnal winter occurrence here.

The Post Inn, Whiddon Down
Until 1964, named 'The Post Office Inn', having been one of a chain of roadside inns on which the history of the Post Office was founded. The building dates back to the 15th Century.
