Okehampton: Museum of Dartmoor Life
The museum is believed to stand on the site of one of the town’s watermills. The waterwheel here was rescued from Coombe Park Farm, now under the Roadford Reservoir. It is a 16’ by 3’ overshot. According to staff at the museum its twin is the decayed wheel at The Highwayman Inn, Sourton. This reputedly came from the saw mill in Bridestowe village. The Nissan Micra gives a sense of scale.

The London Inn, Okehampton
The signage has changed since 2014 Image Beyond it is the Plymouth Inn Image; the road through Okehampton was one of the principal routes between the two cities.
