Footpath near Yarcombe
Yarcombe Footpath 19 crosses a stile as it descends a slope in the Yarty valley. The faint outline of the old track it follows, curving to the left across the field, may just been made out. In the background is Beacon Hill near Heathstock.

Yarcombe: church and inn
St John the Baptist church stands close to the Yarcombe Inn. Looking south east across the A30 Trunk Road. Apparently the village was quite off the beaten track until the road was constructed in the early 19th century. The church was over restored towards the end of the same century
