Honiton High Street
This photograph was taken from the junction of New Street with the High Street. A fire destroyed a lot of the houses in the mid 18C and so the old buildings of today date mainly from Georgian times. Honiton was famous for making lace and the lace on Queen Victoria's wedding dress although called Honiton lace was in fact made at Beer a small village on the coast about 10 miles away from the town.
