Trafalgar Way plaque Axminster

Chard Street side of the former George Hotel, Axminster
A red & white For Sale notice is on the gate on the Chard Street side on the building in March 2017. The blue plaque http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5377937 on the wall records that the Cross Keys Inn formerly on this site was destroyed by fire in 1759. It was rebuilt and opened in 1760 as the George Hotel, a coaching inn where at least 16 coaches a day stopped for a change of horses and a meal for the passengers.
The George Hotel was Grade II listed in 1950.
