Barnfield Crescent, Exeter
Local builder-architect Matthew Nosworthy graced the centre of Georgian Exeter with a number of very high quality terraces to rival many of those in London. They are distinguished by their expanses of handsome red brick, stucco bands, arched ground-floor windows and Coade stone doorcases. Barnfield (which lacks the Coade stone) was built in 1805. Grade II* listed. The lower building on the left was added in 1840. All now converted into offices. Was a whole crescent planned?
