Development site, Dean Clarke House, Exeter
This area was formerly a car park. It has been cleared for development. Because it is outside the walls of Exeter, but close to them, the site was investigated by archaeologists who found items of interest from the medieval period.

Granite pillar, Dean Clarke House, Exeter
This pillar appears to have been a gatepost or pillar for a chain; there is a matching one opposite. It marks the corner of the original hospital for Exeter, now known as Dean Clarke House

Rear of buildings on Southernhay East, Exeter
The wall, which is slightly curved, encloses no 40, Southernhay East, and the grass in the foreground is beside the road leading to Image Although many of these properties are used by solicitors, accountants and estate agents, no 38 is a wine bar - one that seems to change hands and character frequently - and the area beneath the beech tree has been (and probably still is) used as a eating area.
