Swapped around, the camera does lie again
This small Elizabethan Post box situated in Winslade Road was swapped round with the one from the top of Alexandria Road. Salcombe Hill features in the background.

Whilst described as a road it actually terminates at the top of the hill.
It was built on land belonging to Arcot House, which is close by.

The Wool Brook goes under Sidford Road
The dam like structure is left over from WWII, so as to raise the height of the river to draw water in case of fire as a result of an air raid.
Raids and bombs where few and far between.
