Former Waltham Abbey police station
The building on the south side of Sun Street dates from 1876 and replaced an earlier facility close to the abbey church. It looks still open with the "blue lamp" outside, but I found out after submitting the photo that it closed in 2011 and was due to be put up for sale in 2016.

Unusual cycle rack
This cycle rack on Quaker Lane, Waltham Abbey appears to be operated by lockable bars through the frame of the bike, while the wheels sit in a metal channel. Very secure except that a cable lock would still be needed to prevent the wheels being removed.

Sun Street, Waltham Abbey
View eastward from the Market Square end. Sun Street survives in pedestrianised form, but sadly much of the town's old street plan appears to have been lost in the last fifty years.

The Phoenix and the Angel
You don't often come across two mythical creatures together, but here they are in Sun Street, Waltham Abbey. The Phoenix is a Chinese restaurant and the Angel a pub. See also Image

The Angel, Waltham Abbey
One of several pubs along Sun Street and close by. It should be possible to do a six pub crawl without walking (or crawling) more than 400 m.

The Angel
Located at the eastern end of Sun Street, The Angel is a McMullens pub. Following a charity walk from the Abrahams Stadium the last of the Wingate & Finchley supporters (barring me) piles inside for a welcome pint and lunch before proceeding to the Waltham Abbey's Capershotts ground for the match. A nice pint of Cask was just what I needed! Shame they weren't advertising the game on the board outside - much more fun than Denmark v England ;-)
