Artisan Bar, London Road
This classic Victorian pub with a circular bar was fortunate in avoiding demolition following a serious accident in 1969. The cab of an articulated Rotterdam Ferries Trailer descending the slope of Montrose Terrace, directly facing the pub, slammed into the Lounge Bar on the left. The considerable damage caused at the time is undetectable thanks to a successful rebuild.
