Waste ground, Shrub Place Lane
Ground cleared on the site of the former Shrubhill Tramways Depot, awaiting redevelopment. The name originates from the nurseries of the Physic Garden which occupied this stretch of Leith Walk before moving to Inverleith to become the Botanic Garden. The nearer chimney belonged to the tram depot. The one beyond it belonged to the adjacent electricity generating station. The grey block is the Edinburgh Masonic Club at the end of the lane.
