The Library was designed by William Baillie (1875-1951) and opened in 1904. The style is 'Queen Anne Art Nouveau'. Happily, it is still in use for its original purpose. See also Image Baillie also designed Image]

West Calder railway station, Lothian, 2013
Opened in 1869 by the Caledonian Railway on the line from Glasgow to Edinburgh via Shotts. View south west towards Addiewell and Shotts some six years before the railway line was electrified and a new footbridge was erected which largely obscured the view from here. See Image for a 2019 view of the station from the opposite direction.

This is one of two non-operational phone boxes in West Calder which have been taken over and painted by the very long-named West Calder and Harburn Community Development Trust, who seem to always be busy making the area a better place to live in.
