Part of what was once an extensive network of railways in North Edinburgh, made even more complex by the struggle between the Caledonian and North British Railways. This was a Caledonian line. Many of the old lines are now cycle paths.

Trackbed, Leith North Branch
Near the site of East Pilton Halt. The cyclist is emerging from the site of City Park, the first home of Ferranti Thistle FC, a former works side who are now a Premiership side playing in Livingston. They beat Celtic soon after this was taken. The last match played here, in 2004 was coincidently a cup tie between Spartans and Livingston. Spartans then moved to new facilities nearby at Ainslie Park. Another coincidence is that the supporters of Ferranti Thistle/Meadowbank Thistle/Livingston, unhappy with the move out of Edinburgh bought Edinburgh City, who now groundshare with Spartans.
