Mission hall
Mission hall on Cowdenhill road.
Was for many years the activity centre for Carriden church, Boys Brigade section associated with Carriden church met here.
In the days before car boot sales regular jumble sales were held here.

A terrace built on steep ground overlooking the industrial plain at Grangepans.

Grangepans area
This gets its name from the salt pans associated with Grange House in early industrial days. Sea water was heated and evaporated leaving the salt which was used for the preservation of meat and fish.

Council housing from 1930s
There are several buildings around the town to this design, mostly as “4 in a block” flats. The decorative concrete moulding around and above the front entrance has led the largest group to be known as “The Coffin Block”.

Victoria Park
This small park lies between the low lying Grangepans industrial area and the areas up the hill where the managers and owners lived. At the end of the swings area there is a steep slope where sledging is possible if there is snow.
