Beam Engine housing
Now ruined, this building was part of a beam engine housing. It was built to drain the local pits in the 18th century. It was later reused as a doocot. A full size working beam engine can be seen in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

Previous St Andrews Church
Built in 1904 this building ceased to be a church in the 1950s and became a social club. It was demolished in 2006 to make way for new housing.

Low tide at Bo'ness
Low tide reveals extensive mudflats at Bo'ness, cut by meandering rivulets, which look very eerie in the blue dusk light. The Fife coast is seen through the gloom.

Walker Timber, Bridgeness
Bridgeness Road passing Victoria Mills Industrial Estate. There has been a long tradition of timber processing on this site beside the Firth of Forth.

Tower in Kinningars Park
On the site of a shaft marked on the OS map as disused, and apparently the remains of a beam engine housing used to drain the mines.

Victoria Sawmills entrance
An old doorway, the mills have given their name to the modern industrial estate, Victoria Mills, which is still dominated by sawmills.
