Kingscavil Church
I have had as little success in finding anything on the history of this building as I had trying to photograph it well against the light. However I have gleaned that it was built in 1902 to a design by W M Scott, and contains a notable apse and ceiling. The square lamp above the door is part of the Kirkhill Pillar Project http://www.kirkhillpillarproject.org.uk/ and represents Neptune.

Kingscavil Post Box
My attention was drawn to this box by a Royal Mail Van which drew away from it just as I was looking for somewhere to park for a few minutes. Could the postwoman who was driving the van have been emptying it on a Sunday, or was it just a coincidence?

School, Kingscavil
Once a village school for Kingscavil Rows. Just inside the square opposite the kirk, which is in NT0276. Looking South across the B9080, which used to be the A9, the main road from Edinburgh to Stirlingshire, before the M9 motorway was built.

Ploughed Field near Kingscavil
The field is adjacent to the former main road from Edinburgh to Linlithgow, now pleasantly quiet since the M9 motorway now takes most of the traffic.
