Flooding at Jct of East Barnton Ave & Barnton Ave, Edinburgh
Perhaps not such a good day to walk the John Muir Way between Dalmeny and Edinburgh. It was dry when I set off but that was before the deluge.

Entrance, Royal High School
The Royal High moved here to a new building in 1969 from Calton Hill. This was a time of reorganisation in Edinburgh schools with the grant aided schools deciding whether to go fully private or become council maintained. The Royal High went down the public route and is sometimes nicknamed "Barnton Comprehensive". I spent a very pleasant 6 weeks here as a student teacher 20 years previously.
