Cardrona Railway Station
This station opened on 10th October 1864 as part of the Innerleithen and Galashiels Railway. The Station was closed on the 5th of February 1962 by the British Transport Commission and thankfully the station building is now being used as a shop. The platforms are still there as is the signalbox.

Map of Tweed Valley Railway Path, Cardrona
The old line between Peebles and Innerleithen has been tarmaced for use as a cycleway and footpath, with a useful new bridge just east of Cardrona. This map sign has recently been erected on the route, opposite the former railway station, now the village shop.

The former station building next to a recent housing development in the village by the River Tweed. The tarmac path is a cycle route from Peebles to Innerleithen using the old railway.

Occupying the site of the old Cardrona Station on the Innerleithen and Peebles railway which was opened in 1864 and finally closed in 1962.

Cardrona station, now the village shop
The railway station closed in February 1962, but the building has survived and is now the Cardrona Village Store, catering for the community that has grown here over the last few years with new housing development. Cardrona was one of the stops on the North British Railway's Peebles to Galashiels route.
