Belgrave Mews
The mews would originally have housed the carriages belonging to the occupants of the houses in Belgrave Terrace, but they are now all converted to desirable housing.

This house on Dean Path is distinguished by not being a Listed Building like most of its neighbours, but it has a distinctive gable.

35-40 Buckingham Terrace, Edinburgh
From John Gifford, Colin McWilliam, David Walker: Edinburgh (Buildings of Scotland) Penguin, rev 1991: "Buckingham Terrace was begun in 1860 ... the site of nos 35-40 to the west of Belgrave Terrace, originally designed by Chesser ..." {who built the rest of the terrace further east} "... was taken by the builder James Steel whose architect Alexander W. Macnaughtan departed from the agreed scheme. Steel was threatened with proceedings through the Lord Advocate, and nos 41-44 were never built; their place was taken by the Bristo Baptist Church {just behind the camera}. The executed houses are of greyer stone than the rest, without Chesser's trick of balancing the elevations. Full-height bays, and pedimented dormers exploiting the attic space."
The terrace overlooks trees alongside the A90.
