The photographer is near the Leamington Lift Bridge. The modern buildings on the left are student accommodation. The row of houses beyond is Caledonian Crescent. The tall chimney is on the site of the former Caledonian Grain Whisky Distillery. The buildings at its base now appear to be accommodation.

The Category C Listed building On Caledonian Road at Caledonian Crescent by Alexander Heron in Early Gothic style dates from 1871 and served as a community Church until recent years when the congregation joined Augustine's United Church on George IV Bridge. Now used for residential purposes.
