East Lothian Townscape : The Former United Free Church, Main Street, Gullane
I understand that this group of buildings has been converted into 2 residential properties. Unfortunately these are tricky buildings to photograph - none of the verticals appear vertical in the picture.

East Lothian Townscape : Running For Cakes on Main Street, Gullane
This picture is offered primarily for its incidental detail. I had intended to take a view of this elevation of the corner building in order to show some of the architectural detail. I had not really noticed the people in the shot. It was only after uploading the photo to my PC that I noticed the running boy in front of the Keystore leaning into the wind at a 60 degree angle like a young Usain Bolt. He is about to pass under the architectural feature of interest - the stone or concrete representation of something rolling down the roof from the chimney stack towards the rainwater downpipe.

East Lothian Townscape : Corner Block at Junction of Main Street and Goose Green Road, Gullane
Turning a corner in fine Edwardian / Turn-of-The-Century style, this modestly confident and well-mannered building enhances the Gullane townscape.

East Lothian Townscape : The Silver Jubilee Clock in Main Street, Gullane
A very rare sight in Scotland - a public clock marking the silver jubilee of our present Queen Elizabeth. I know of no other. Perhaps the good folk of Gullane are less swayed by (Scottish) Nationalist sentiment and the perpetual Nationalist gripe that our current monarch is not Scotland's second Queen Elizabeth.

Falko Konditorei, Gullane
A rather fine cafe which does the best Sachertorte in Gullane. Worth a visit for the range of breads on offer too.
