Carlowrie Farm Cottages
The row of cottages, originally built to provide housing for farm workers, stands on the roadside. This was taken from just off the road, so that the roadway is almost hidden by the long grass on the verge.

Carlowrie Farm Cottages
I was intrigued to notice that the numbers run from No 2 to No 6. I wonder what happened to No 1? The symmetry of the building doesn't suggest that there was ever another one.

Fields (Distant shot of Edinburgh International Airport)
Shot taken just off the road south of Standingstone overlooking arable farmland. Roof of a house between Carlowrie Cottages and Carlowrie Farm can be seen in the foreground. Electricity pylons run alongside Kirkliston to junction on A90 (near Cramond Brig). In the background thenewly constructed air traffic control goon-tower can be seen soaring over its surroundings at Edinburgh Airport.

View North from Carlowrie Farm Farmyard
Taken from the cab of a rusty old yellow crane, complete with very impressive tank tracks, sitting on the edge of the abandoned farmyard. The farm dates from the late 1850s, and old maps show that there was not an older farm on the site previously.
