West Street Hall, Penicuik
After the disruption in the Church of Scotland in 1843, this building in West Street, Penicuik was built as the home of the Free Church congregation. It became the Church hall after the present South Church was built in the 1860s.

Old Well
The well was erected in 1864, to a design by J A Bell, for Alexander Cowan, a member of a family who owned Valleyfield Paper Mills in Penicuik and were prominent citizens and benefactors of the town.

Demolition and rebuilding, Penicuik

Old Retail Emporium
This building was built in 1904 for use by the local Cooperative Society after their first building on the same site burnt down. Now converted into flats.
