A residential road off Mauricewood Road. John Boyd Orr was a former Chancellor of the University of Glasgow and Nobel Peace Prize winner, but I am not sure of the connection.

Mauricewood Miners' Memorial, off Mauricewood Road
A memorial erected in 1989 to the memory of 63 men and boys who died in a fire in the Mauricewood Pit in 1889. It was the initiative of Alan Montgomery, an ex-miner from Danderhall who became a local councillor in the area. Image
