Broadmeadows Strip

West footbridge, Shewington
This is one of a pair of footbridges which cross tributaries of the Shiel Burn at Shewington. They predate the road bridges installed when the modern farm was created at the time of the enclosures.

Opencast mining

Fatlips excavation
This is the old cottage of Fatlips excavated and recorded in 2006 before it was destroyed in the opencast coal extraction process. It appears on Armstrong's map of 1776. It was apparently inhabited up until the Second World War.
