Taxi Rank
The taxi rank in Dalkeith town centre is tucked away where it doesn't impinge on the townscape or get in the way of traffic. It's not as if you expect strangers to need to know where to find a taxi, is it? The round building is part of the council offices, and looks as if it has been boarded up.

Memorial to Robert Burns, Dalkeith
It seems this was originally a fountain, which has suffered various moves and reductions in glory, and that there is quite a move afoot to get the monument back to its former state and give it a place of importance, see http://www.midlothianadvertiser.co.uk/news/local-headlines/call-for-fitting-tribute-to-burns-in-dalkeith-1-2939840 , which includes reference to the Facebook campaign relevant to this - I don't have a Facebook account, but anyone who does can share their views about the monument.
