New housing on the eastern outskirts of Dalkeith. Not my idea of sympathetic development in a rural landscape, even if it is post-industrial.

New houses, Dalkeith.
Beside a new road, further southward expansion of Dalkeith to take some of the pressure of the Edinburgh housing shortages. Roman Fields, as it is called seems to be pitched quite high, with mostly largish properties.

A little reminder of the past
This small rushing burn flows beneath mature trees amid what is now a modern housing estate on the edge of Woodburn. A couple of years ago, the burn flowed between open fields.
