Former Royal Bank
A baronial-style building dating from 1870 by Peddie and Kinnear. The entry beside it was New Road but is now called Edinburgh Road. It is the A6106, which means that traffic on the main road has to negotiate a double dog-leg through the town.

71-77 High Street
According to 'The Buildings of Scotland', No 75, with a windowed pediment, is one of the High Street's few distinguished early 19th century fronts. It is Category B listed. He doesn't mention the buildings on either side of it, though numbers 67-71, to the left, and No 77, to the right, are also listed B and C respectively.
