Situated in the grounds of Dalkeith Place,the church was built by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch in the mid 19th century.

St Mary's Chapel, Dalkeith Park
The church, built as a private chapel for the Duke of Buccleuch in 1845, made headlines in May 1913 when a bomb was discovered, presumed to have been planted by local militant suffragettes. A similar bomb exploded days later at Edinburgh's Blackford Hill Observatory. No arrests were made.

St Mary's Episcopal Church
Until 1958 this was the chapel of Dalkeith Palace. It dates from 1843 and is the work of William Burn and David Bryce.
