Loanhead Parish Kirk
Typical grim grey granite Gothic 19th century kirk under a gloomy sky. It is also known as the West Kirk. Designed by Henry Hardy and John Rutherford Wight and built in 1882-1884. It is not a Listed building.

This is tin clad shed country, a series of industrial estates just off the city bypass often on former coal mining sites. This is a parcel distribution centre.

McKinlay Terrace
Classic 20th century Council House Gothic, with all the traditional design flaws including too narrow streets and ill-proportioned windows, alleviated only by the houses not all being built in a straight line. The satellite dishes do nothing to beautify the scene.
