Mortonhall House
This is the north elevation of the house, and the main entrance. It was built for the Trotters of Mortonhall, and the architect may have been John Baxter junior.

Mortonhall Steading
The steading, like Mortonhall House nearby, was built in 1769, possibly to a design by John Baxter. It is a Category B Listed Building. See http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB28097 for details. It has been converted to house a variety of small businesses.

The building with the lobed slits is a hay loft, and the slits provided ventilation. The building has been converted and the slits have been glazed.
