Confucius Institute For Scotland
The Confucius Institute For Scotland in the University of Edinburgh was established here at Abden House, Edinburgh, in 2006 to promote the teaching of Chinese language and culture in Scotland. To the left of the doorway is a very fine bust of Confucius.

Statue of Huang Kuan
This statue of Huang Kuan donated by the city of Zhuhai, China, stands in the grounds of the Confucius Institute For Scotland in the University of Edinburgh. Huang Kuan was the first Chinese student to graduate from a European university and received his PhD in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 1857.
