Duddingston House and other buildings
Built in 1763 for the Earl of Abercorn, and designed by Sir William Chambers, once almost derelict it has been recently refurbished. Arthur's Seat is in the background.

Duddingston House 'Annexe'
Buildings to the north of the main house Image, which were apparently for the staff, rather than letting them live in the cellars or attic rooms. Now they appear to be lived in by 'ordinary' people. Arthurs Seat in the background, and Duddingston Golf Course all around.

Duddingston House
Open for Edinburgh 'Doors Open Day', considered to be the finest of the houses designed by Sir William Chambers, and built in 1763 for the Earl of Abercorn. Once a hotel and then almost almost derelict, it has recently been beautifully and uniquely refurbished.

Duddingston House
The former residence of James Hamilton, 8th Earl of Abercorn, designed by Sir William Chambers and built between 1763 and 1768. The estate, which was sold by Archibald, Duke of Argyle in 1745, was rapidly improved in keeping with the spirit of the age.
