The War Poets Collection
A memorial and tribute to Wilfred Owen and the War Poets, recently unveiled at Craiglockhart, which is now part of Edinburgh Napier University, but in the past has been The City Hospital; the Royal Edinburgh Asylum; the City Poorhouse; an Old People's Home; a Hydropathic Institution; and during the First World War, the hospital was used to house officers suffering from the symptoms of shell-shock [now known as PTSD], which is where the 'war poets' Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon met. After the war it was a convent and then a school, and finally part of the then Napier College. Photographed on a very wet day.

Old Craiglockhart Hydropathic
Opened in 1880 as a hydropathic sanatorium, the building was commandeered by the War Office in 1916 for use as a military psychiatric hospital. In 1920 it was bought by the Catholic Church and turned into a teacher training college, which it remained until the early 1990s. It then became part of the rapidly expanding Napier University.
