Hermiston Quay
Sad to say, Hermiston Quay is now the headquarters of the National Trust for Scotland, guardian of some of Scotland's finest architecture, obliged, as a result of a financial crisis, to give up its conveniently-sited headquarters in an elegant building in the city centre conservation area. It now operates from this ugly concrete block in an industrial estate insufficiently provided with parking space on the outermost outskirts of the city, where few buses pass. At least the Union Canal does pass the back of the block.
