Little Waitrose, Regis House, King William Street, EC4R 9AN
Former site of King William Street Station, the first terminus of the City and South London Railway, later becoming part of the Northern Line. When the line was Extended to Moorgate, a different alignment brought the tunnels to bank, making King William Street obsolete.

View from The Monument - southwest
311 steps and 202 feet high, The Monument commemorates the Great Fire of London that started in Pudding Lane just the same number of feet away. The view from here is not as extensive as from the Golden Gallery at St Paul's cathedral, but is different and more intimate to the surrounds of the City of London. For the next view see Image]

London Bridge, 1995: demolition opens up a view of the Monument
Office blocks are not designed to last for ever, and once in a generation (or so) their demolition and replacement with a newer model opens up vistas long blocked.
