My grandfather, himself a countryman, used to tell the story of his father's visit to London. He waited for the traffic to pass before crossing the road- spoiler alert: it never did. Similarly, in my 44 years visiting the City of London, if I waited until there were no workmen in shot my collection would be much, much smaller...
