View of Daniel Buren's "4 Colours at 3 Metres High Situated Work" in Creechurch Place
Daniel Buren's "4 Colours at 3 Metres High Situated Work" is a take on the pergola or "attrape soleil", a theme that Buren has explored in several of his works, which play with natural light, the movement of the sun, architecture and coloured shadows. All of Buren's inventions are created 'in situ', defining and colouring the spaces in which they are standing. The artwork addresses questions of how we look and perceive and the way space can be used, defined and revealed in its social and physical nature. In Buren's work, life finds its way into art, while autonomous art is able to reconnect with life.
