Ye Olde Watling, Watling Street, London EC2
Ye Olde Watling on the corner of the crossroads of Bow Lane and Watling Street gives a glimpse of the past with these tiny streets, which are now pedestrianised, but which up until a few years ago were open to traffic, albeit small traffic.

Gresham Street
The building at the corner of King Street (nos. 42-44) dates from 1850-52 and was the work of Sancton Wood, a pupil of Robert Smirke. Pevsner comments on the quality of the decoration and speculates that the ground floor arcade of segmental arches, a common later motif, may here have been an innovation of Wood. It was built for the Queen's Assurance Company. Grade II listed. Adjoining it are more late-C19th commercial buildings.
