40-48 Great Eastern Street
Taking advantage of its corner site is this former showroom and warehouse. In neo-Gothic style, windows set in large pointed arches, with Italianate and Venetian influences says the listing. Variegated brickwork and quite nice detail on the ground-floor windows too. Built in 1877 by J.W. Brooker for the cabinet ironmongers Edward Wells & Co. Grade II listed. The further building is plainer but probably built for a similar function around the same time.
