York House, 9-12 High Street, Amblecote, Stourbridge
York House is rather an unusual building with a central balcony at first floor level and rather an art deco appearance. Much of the ground floor is taken up by the floor covering retail shop of Kidderminster Carpets. Other businesses are based there too and some space was available to rent.

Located on the corner of King William Street and High Street. An electrical discount store, independently owned, it commenced business in Brettell Lane in 1960. The business relocated to 7 High Street in 1981.

Brewery sign at the Little Pig in Amblecote, Dudley
The Little Pig in High Street is shown here in 2010 still sporting Burtonwood Brewery credentials. This was despite already being taken over by Wolverhampton and Dudley (e.g.Banks's ... later Marston's) Brewery in 2004. Later the pub became a Marston's house, but by 2014 was closed down, the premises subsequently being used as an estate agent/property letting business.

This is now a Marston's pub but used to be a Burtonwood house, but that pub chain was taken over by Marston's around 2005/2006.

The Little Pig (2) - sign, 120 High Street, Amblecote, Stourbridge
The name might seem to be a modern one, but the 1911 census shows a Little Pig Inn in High Street Amblecote, which it seems almost certainly is this one. It has probably been built or rebuilt and extended in the intervening 101 years.
